Historical information:
Built in both saloon and coupe/convertible body styles, the 170 V signaled success ever since its inception. Sporting a beautifully styled body with a triangular hood protruding through the wide front wheel arches and a lean flowing rear end, the V 170 was a commanding presence on the road. Side spare wheel mounts were relocated to the rear end with the tire sitting inches from the car"s vertical trunk door which was not larger than a drawer. Signal lights were placed along the front wheel arches, creating a nice lighting ensemble with the near-grille bigger, round head lamps.
