In 1946 the first Soviet twin-engined jet-propelled fighter MiG-9 was created in design bureau of A.I.Mickoyan and M.I.Gurevich. The first flight of MiG-9 was held on April 24, 1946. By its flying-technical level and the basic characteristics the aircraft was at the level of European fighters produced in 1945-1946. MiG-9 was the first Soviet fighter taking part in mastering the technique of the jet bombers interception. 610 aircrafts were built in 1946-1948, many of them were delivered to China after retirement from Soviet Air Forces.
