Vadim Shavrov will always be remembered in Russia for two things - his book "The History of the Aircraft Design in the USSR" which became the real classics, and for the Sh-2 flying boat he designed. Having made its the first flight in 1930 simple and reliable Sh-2 was operated up to 1964.
