The Yak-1 is the Soviet fighter of the new generation. It was designed by Yakovlev"s design bureau in 1939-1940. In the years of the WWII the Yak-1 in different modifications was one of the basic fighters in the Red Army Air Force and it was producted in the large series. It mounted the engine M-105P of 1050 hp and was armed with one 20mm ShVAK cannon and two 7.62mm SnVAK guns.
