Kocherigin DI-6 fighter was developed in 1934 and some 200 aircrafts were built for Soviet Air Forces. The DI-6Sh depicted in this kit was an attack aircraft which featured an additional armor and auxiliary machine gun pods. 60 such planes were built. The DI-6 took part in Russian-Japanese border conflict in 1939.
