In 1977 Canadian Armed Forces placed an order with the Diesel Division of General Motors of Canada Ltd for 350 6x6 Mowag Piranha. To the mid of 80th about 500 vehicles were made, 195 of which were vehicles fitted with the turret mounted on the British CVR(T) Scorpion. The turret is armed with 76mm L23A1 gun with a 7,62mm MG mounted coaxially and 4 smoke dischargers mounted on either side. The vehicle is fully amphibious, employing two propellers at the rear. Before entering the water a trim vane is erected at the front of the vehicle. |
