In 1934, the German Army began the process of creating a series of standard military passenger vehicles (Einheits-Personenwagen) with standard chassis, and interchangeable components. The plan was to built a set of three weight classes by different manufacturers. The companies of Horch, Wanderer and Opel were to be responsible for producing the medium vehicle (Kfz.15). The cabriolet Kfz.21 was designed on a same chassis for high command and used as staff car. The Kfz.21 cars were produced from 1940 to 1943. |
