In 1972 the new single-seater sporting plane Yak-50 was designed in Yakovlev office. After the plant and state flying tests in 1973 the aircraft was launched into a serial production. Soon the small series of modernized version with non removable undercarriage was turned out. Yak-50 was actively exploited in the flying clubs and exported to many countries. After the creation of Yak-50 many other countries began to design high-speed piloting aircrafts.
