One role is a conventional artillery equipment to replace existing mortars and howitzers in the former Soviet Army's air assault divisions and the second role could be as a direct fire anti-tank weapon system firing HEAT projectiles. Developed by Yuri Kalachnikov design bureau in Perm early 80th and first seen in public in May 1985. More than 1000 vehicles were produced in XX century. |
