One of the most famous combat aircraft of WWII was German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109. The modification Bf 109E-4 was produced since spring 1940. Those planes had canopy of new design and armor protecting. Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 fighters became the basis of German Luftwaffe Air Force in 1940-1941 battles. They took part in French campaign, Battle of Britain in August-October 1940, and invasion to Greece and Yugoslavia in spring 1940.
