One of the most famous combat aircraft of WWII was German fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109. The modification Bf 109E-3 was produced since January, 1939. Those planes had DB 601A engines and armament of two MG FF cannons and two MG 17 machine guns. Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 fighters became the basis of German Luftwaffe Air Force in 1939-1940 battles. They took part in Polish, Norwegian, French campaigns, and heaviest air fights were in the course of Battle of Britain August-October 1940.
