I-5 - the first fighter of N.N. Polikarpov design which was produced in large series and became the basic in Red army Air Force in the beginning of 1930s. The first prototype VT-11 had made its first flight in April 29th, 1930. I-5 fighters participated in the air battles of the initial period of the World War II. In total 800 I-5 fighters were built in 1931-1934 period.
