The world famous P-51 Mustang was one of the best fighter aircraft of the World War II. The last modification with Allison engine - P-51A was built in 1942. The airplane had high speed and wide range, but its rate of climb and service ceiling were insufficient, especially in European theatre of war. In September 1943 P-51A replaced P-40 in 23rd Fighter Group in China. P-51A fighters were successfully used as fighters in battles with Japan aviation. In total 310 P-51A were produced in period 1942-1943.
