Junkers D.I – single-seat fighter plane of the final period of World War I. The design of this aircraft consisted of a metal tubular framework and bearing surfaces, covered with corrugated duralumin, and was absolutely revolutionary for the time. The Junkers D.I appeared too late to prove itself in battle. Nevertheless, the type was able to participate with success in the battles of 1919 with the Kampfgeschwader Sachsenberg above the territory of the Baltic countries, against the aggression of the Bolshevics. In total 40 planes of this type were constructed.
