The Hispano Suiza V8 was a twin-row 8-cylinder water-cooled engine, designed in 1914 by the Hispano Suiza firm. Its construction was innovative and efficient, and demonstrated much technological refinement. It was fitted to many of the Allies" fighters during 1916-1917 and was one of the most widely used power plants of the time. Apart from France, the engine was built under license in Great Britain, Italy and Russia.
