The first US jet fighter was built by the firm Bell in September 1942. For the first time a new airplane, named XP-59A, was made airborne by chief aviation pilot of the firm Robert Stanly in October 1942. Before April 1943 the first Xp-59A had made 30 flights with total flying time 15.5 hours.
