The SB bomber was one of the first twin-engine bombers with smooth metal plating and retractable chassis in the world. SB (ANT-40) had constructed in Tupolev design bureau. It made the first flight in October 7th, 1934. In 1938 it began license building of SB in Czechoslovakia as Avia B-71 (was built 110 planes). Later these aircraft served in Bulgarian Air Force and German Luftwaffe.
